In reply to topamax+lamictal = less stimulant poop out?, posted by JohnX2 on January 21, 2002, at 0:33:54
I should add that I take a 5 mg dose of
Zyprexa, and I believe that 5ht-2 antagonism
may also help alleviate a bit some stimulant
poop out.I was thinking of testing Acamprosate to my
Lamictal + Topamax and dumping Zyprexa.Acamprosate is a simple carrier molecule for the amino
acid Taurine which has anti-epileptic properites
and is generally produced naturally in the brain.
I believe it is a GabaB agonist and a mild
NMDA antagonist. (correct me if I am wrong)
Acamprosate has been shown to prevent
ethanol (alcohol) tolerance. I think it may
be a good mood stabilizer and help relieve
agitation. With this wicked trio you would have
your GabaA,GabaB,AMPA,NMDA all covered from
many angles with few side effects hopefully.
I think it could be a real home run for
bipolar. . Just a random thought.-John
