I am a firm believer that there is no miracle AD that is going to 'cure' someone who is treatment resistant. The best we can hope for is to combat the individual symptroms that make up our depression. There are meds that seem to work on individual symptoms and when they are combined can make life quite livable again.
If you have found a mainline AD that has helped you get out of the basic funk that we live in then I would stick with it and augment based on the symptoms which have not been eliminated. What are the symptoms of depression that remain with you that don't seem to go away?
I would recommend different approaches based on what it is you are still facing. Anhedonia, sleeplessness, anergia, paranoia, OCD, ruminating thoughts, weepiness?
Try to define what it is that makes up your depression and treat it that way.
Hope this makes a little sense.
