I'm a 49 year old woman who recently (3 wks ago) started Topamax. My Dr. warned me that it might make me feel 'loopy'. I'm not sure what he meant by that, but I have felt strange and I can't really explain the feeling. It's almost like being light headed or staggering, but not high or anything like that. At first it scared me and I thought it might be dangerous, but it doesn't seem to be and I'm only on 50 mg. so far increasing each week until I get to 200 per day. I have numbness in my tongue and don't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time. Can anyone relate to this? I realize we are all different and have different reactions to medications. I want this one to work and do not want to be back on the medication roller coaster waiting and hoping with emotional ups and downs. Thanks if anyone responds.
