In reply to Respirdal v Zyprexa:which best 4 racing thoughts?, posted by Janelle on September 2, 2001, at 22:34:52
Janelle,
My vote would be for Zyprexa. Once you are over your current morning grogginess it is a great drug for ruminating thoughts. I took Risperdal for a couple of weeks and felt like a Zombie. I had no emotions whatsoever while taking it. It was very frustrating. Before I started Zyprexa I had a serious problem with suicidal thoughts and those thoughts cleared up within a week of starting the Zyprexa.
You may also want to talk to your doctor about Geodon. It's more activating than Zy but in the same family of meds. It's supposed to have less side effects especially the weight gain.
Good Luck,
Chris
