You can think of it as being along the same lines as Neurontin (gabapentin). Seeing the name rang a bell with me regarding some rather important side-effect. I took a look on Medline just to make sure. Unfortunately, it seems that vigabatrin has been linked to a loss of peripheral vision, and it is not rare.
