I suffer from PD, anxiety, depression, and acid reflux caused by this nervous disorder. I have been battling this on and off for 20 years with long remissions. Hovever, 5 years ago I got this acid reflux when I had a relaps. I was put on Paxil and xanax and after about 4 month the reflux stopped and I was myself again mentally as well. Now I had a relaps last year and my pdoc and me haven't been able to get it under control yet. I was off the Paxil before the relaps (thought I could do without) and when we tried again it didn't work the same anymore. Can't tolerate Prozac, Remeron doesn't work, couldn't eat on Celexa (had lost a lot of weight due to reflux), Wellbutrin had paradoxial effect on me. So, my pdoc put me on Nortriptyline with the Xanax. Then he added Neurontin. After six month I finally made it up to 70mg, yet was still extremly anxious and moderately depressed. Had to stop though, because my acid reflux got totally out of hand (I am inder the supervision of a GI doc as well).
Now we started Paxil again about 3 month ago. Reflux got better, but mood wise nothing happened. He is trying now to augment with Nortriptyline, but my acid reflux started again.
Do any of you now of any meds or have experience with any meds that have none or little anti-cholinergic effects, are not sedating (Paxil does a good job of that already), or maybe a totally different approach altogether. Maybe somebody with the same problem could point me in the right direction and I could discuss this with my pdoc.
