Dr's RX: Paxil, Klonopin, Ritalin, Ativan, Inderal

Posted by Pal on July 18, 2001, at 9:18:58

Hi all,

I have GAD, SAD, Panic Attacks, and Dsythymic, with major depressive periods.

I recieve a disabled veteran compensation.

Currently I have been prescribed by my General MD and Med Doc, and am taking each day the following: Paxil 40mg in morning, augmented with Wellbutrin SR 150mg, 1mg Klonopin 3xday, Ritalin 10mg 2xday, 0.5mg Ativan as needed, and Inderal for Performance or Anticipatory anxiety.

Any thoughts on this particular blend? So far I have not had any major side effects that did not go away within a week.

I have only been at the target dosage of 40mg of Paxil for three weeks. Often it can take six weeks at the target dosage for GAD treatment. We used a three week build up to the 40mg dose. So I believe that you have to stay the course with Paxil for twelve weeks before for switching to another med. Unless the side effects are to severve to continue of course.

So far I have been with this course for eight weeks.

Eric
