Paxil works for many people who never go on line to discuss or complain about the drug. Just watch your weight on this med. It was very helpful to me. When the SSRI's do work, it is slowly and clearer or changed thinking just gradually happening. If you come off Paxil[extremely slowly] it may not work as well the 2nd time you take it [happened to me]. I'm on Prozac now and am staying on it.

> I know I loved hearing success stories, so here's mine... I won't bore anyone with my history and whatnot, but basically I have ADD with comorbid dysthymia and anxiety and OCD. The anxiety is the sort where I ruminate (is that the right word?) over negative stimuli, especially socially. I feel uptight, inhibited. I began taking Klonopin 2mg a day, which worked awesome, but it kind of just made all the mind chatter shut up, it didn't really get rid of it really. So I decided to try Paxil 20mg a day, which I had been on in the past, but was too impatient to give an adequate trial. After about 5 weeks on it, I didn't feel it "kick in" like others describe, but I began to slowly notice differences in my thought pattern, behavior, and personality. You see, the effects from these SSRIs just change you so slowly it's often hard to realize they're working. Well anyway, it almost felt like I had a much thicker skin so to speak. Things wouldn't bother me. I could be a total goofball and not care if I acted stupid. My mind felt for once at peace. I could brush away negative anxieties with ease. If I stop taking the stuff now, I quickly start feeling like my old self, and it is such a dramatic difference. Well, anyway, I hope this gives some people hope and a better understanding of the effects of Paxil and possibly other SSRIs.
