Effexor and weight gain

Posted by bendogsowner on May 27, 2001, at 6:59:45

I've been taking Effexor for almost a year now 150 mgs. I've really been happy with the change it's brought to my emotional life. My weight however is driving me nuts! My doctor said that one side effect was the drugs tendency to make the body store fat. I've been excersizing daily and have always been a pretty healthy eater, so this is really frustrating. I'm now taking Effexor and Wellbuterol, to counteract the effects of the Effexor. I haven't noticed any change, positive or negative of the addition, it's been 2 weeks. Is anyone going through the same thing? What are you doing to deal with the weight?
