Greg,
Yes I switched from Zy to Geodon. I really haven't noticed a big difference between the two so far. I'm not sure for his exact reasoning but my pdoc felt that I wasa very good candidate for trying Geodon. Aside from the weight gain problems with Zy I think that I read that there isn't as much of a concern about TD with long term use of Geodon.
According to a study that I read at Medscape Zyprexa caused increases in Insulin and cholesteral while Geodon left levels unchanged.
I don't sleep as well with the Geodon but other than that I don't see a lot of side effects. My doctor put in for a rider on my insurance so that I can afford to get Geodon instead of Zyprexa. SO far I've been using office samples. When I checked at my pharmacy for a price on Geodon they quoted me $270 for a one month supply (40 mg BID). A little too steep when I have a $20 co-pay for the Zyprexa.
I'll probably stay on it for a little longer before deciding one way or the other.

I've been taking 40mg BID since the first of the year and have no problem adjusting to it. IT is similar to Zyprexa without some of the less desirable side effects.
