> 1. What are you using Geodon to treat? Has it helped?
I am taking it to treat hallucinations, mild voices. And it has helped a lot. They are almost all gone. I've been taking it for about 5 weeks, starting with 40mg for a couple of weeks then moved to 80mg now I'm at 160mg divided dose in one day.> 2. What side effects or other impressions do you have of Geodon? Is it stimulating or activating?
I have no weight gain, so I am pretty happy about that. However, I am really sexually dysfuncional on it. Also, I seem mildly stimulated and a little bit restless. Sometimes the restlessness has gotten a lot worse, so I called my doc for something. So, I am getting some Artane to help me be less restless.
> 3. What other drugs are you currently taking?
I am taking Lamictal 50mg a day. And Ativan 1.5mg at bedtime to help me sleep because of the Lamictal. And today, I'll add the Artane. I really love the Lamictal for my depression and energy level. I would really recommend trying it. And it doesn't have any side-effects for me except the sleep problems, but that's okay because Lamictal is so good.
> 4. Why did you choose Geodon? Had you tried Zyprexa or Risperdal?
I mainly tried Geodon because I did not want to gain the weight which I just recently worked hard to get rid of. I have tried in the past Zyprexa and it worked for me, but I didn't especially like the weight gain; it has the same sexual side effects, but maybe less than Geodon. Risperdal, I tried briefly a long time ago and it didn't seem to work for me. Oh, also, as compared to Geodon, Zyprexa made me feel more depressed and with less energy.
Remember everyone reacts differently to these drugs.best wishes
