Please remind me whether you have been dxed bipolar or with treatment resistant depression. If it is the first and you have not improved on AD's (despite the presence of a mood stabilizer) then every shrink would discontinue the AD. If it is the second scenario, where you have experienced 'poop-out' on AD's or not responded then the shrinks I have seen would treat you as bipolar- and lamictal is a fine choice. I think everyone responds differently to atypical AP's, although risperdal has worked well for me for acute treatment of symptoms. Cam would be the ideal person to ask about how long AD's stay in your system; in my case once I stopped I did not totally get well but noticed after about a month the cycling slowed down. I think my last AD was either celexa or wellbutrin, but with my history- no one is ever going to prescribe one again. Basically you are on the same regime as I am, but I also take klonopin and xanax prn. Please let me know how you do. Take care, judy
