Dear Tina Lynne,
Once a month, I too am a lunatic. And, like you, it lasts for days. I am also Bipolar but this is a very real, seperate issue.
I started on oral contaceptives four months ago for this very reason and it has improved the situation by isolating it to maybe two or three days but the insanity is still there and depression hangs over me like a fog, beyond that time. This problem is so absolutely chemical that literally minutes before my period starts, it is like someone turns on a light switch - emotional stability and sanity return in an instant. I have even asked my doctor, PLEASE...whatever the hormone is that floods my body at that moment before my period begins - GIVE ME SOME OF THAT!!!!! So far, I have not found anyone to help me. Prozac is all they can suggest.
If you are able to find any help with this disorder, please e-mail me.
Good luck and I wish you the best.
BTW - I've never read anything about a link with high protein diets. Caffeine and sugar are to be avoided but protein? That's a new one.
