Krystal - To minimize the increase in side effects that may occur with an increase in dose (as mentioned by medlib) you could take one dose in the morning and one at night. This is not really necessary, as the entire dose of Effexor XR can be taken once daily, but it may help alleviate some of the transient side effects. These side effects should disappear with a week or two (or may not happen at all).

Good luck with the increase, but do not expect a decrease in depression overnight. The depression should gradually remit over a couple of weeks, as well.
