Jeni - Sorry to hear of your husband's problems. A proper, physician-followed weaning from Effexor has resulted in no problems withdrawing from the drug, for many people. There are also other alternate withdrawl methods that make stopping Effexor much easier. Effexor should never be stopped cold-turkey. Was your husband slowly weaned from his dose?

I also believe that severe depression &/or anxiety is far worse than any side effects or withdrawl effects that can occur with Effexor.
