Since my 'crisis' last weekend I have not been back to
work. I guess its obvious I've been spending a LOT
of time here. If I hit the reload button again tonight
I'm going to load my .45 and do a Dirty Harry on this CRT.I'm doing 'better' these past few days. I wish there
were about a hundred different words and shades of meaning
for 'better', just like there are many different words
for snow in some languages where its cold.I'm broke, the mortgage is past due, and my disability
insurance owes me over 5 grand. They are still 'investigating'
to try to find a pre-existing condition. Which is nonsense
because I've been employed and had the insurance long
enough that I'm exempt from the pre-existing clause.
Figure that one out.I met an interesting guy today. I go on a walk each
day. Usually outside, sometimes on the indoor track at
the gym. Today it was raining and I like walking in
the rain but I've had a cough for 4 weeks so I went to
the gym. There is a pool table in one of the rooms and every
afternoon an old guy's club meets there. They shoot
pool, cheat a lot, and have a good time. There are always
3 and sometimes 4 of them. We are on a first name basis,
always nod & say hello. My estimate of the ages of 3
of them was late 60's to early 70's, and that is correct. My estimate of the 1 guy who looks the most fit was mid 60's.
After doing my laps on the track I hit the whirlpool.
The mid 60's guy came in too. We talked a bit and I
can not believe his age. He is 88 yrs old! That simply amazed me.
I've got to talk to him again to find out his secret. He
is healthy, walks each day, has no fat, has muscle tone,
and has almost no wrinkles. And his coherts say he's the
better pool player of them all. Hell, he's in better
shape than I am. Just thought this was interesting.Sign off harry & go to bed
OK, bye
hbPS- I watched some TV at the gym, still am without it
at home
