I have a brother in Florida who practices corporate law and would be delighted to contact him and ask for the name of a personal injury attorney in Orlando. First, do not sign any release at all with the other insurance. In the U.S. you have the right to sue your own insurance since his coverage is so minimal. You have suffered a tremendous loss here, and while your concern about ruining the driver's life is compassionate, he has done something far more terrible to you. I have just settled a lawsuit involving an auto accident that was someone else's fault (my injuries included a TBI, two knee replacements and an MI after I broke the steering wheel) It took 2 years and counting for me to recover and I felt no guilt was so ever in suing the person responsible. Suzanne will never recover and the years that have been taken from her and your family have no price. But if you can use the money to start some memorial to her or fund a favorite charity of hers and to educate her little brother, than I think she would like that. We live in an extremely litiguous society in America, and a good attorney licensed in Florida will take care of you. Let me know if you would like a name and a way to post it to you.
