Gloria - The sweats with Effexor (or other SSRI-like antidepressants) can happen at any time, but most often occur at peak concentrations (two or three hours after taking a dose). Effexor can be taken morning or night, whatever your preference. Poop-out does not seem to be as common with Effexor as is seen with the SSRIs, but can still happen. Low and slow is an ideal way to dose Effexor, but your doctor seems to be doing that. Also withdrawl symptoms need not occur if the slow taper rule applies to coming off of the drug as well. Many people do stop Effexor without withdrawl symptoms. Hope this helps - Cam W.
