I have taken Buspar for years for generalized anxiety disorder and it works wonderfully for me. However, I have heard that this is not often the case. In fact, the pdoc who first put me on it said she had prescribed it so many times to people for whom it had not worked that if it hadn't worked for me she was going to quit prescribing it all together. I think it might be true that it is best for mild to moderate anxiety. That would probably describe me. The main thing it does for me is helps me to stop ruminating in the night, so I can sleep. It does not make me groggy, it just stops the obsessive thinking that tends to keep me awake. It has been a huge benefit to me. Good luck to you.
