Cass - Yup, your sex drive can be the pits on Celexa. The mechanism of this is not really known, but may have something to do with the sub-receptors of serotonin being stimulated. This is true of all SSRIs. In men the most common effect is that it is harder to reach ejaculation (actually SSRIs have been used for premature ejaculation). In women the effect is anorgasmia or the inability to reach orgasm very easily. Talk to your doctor, there a couple ways to combat this. I have never seen a woman treated for this, but in men I have found 100mg of Wellbutrin SR in the morning seems to help. Sorry I can't be of more help. Anyone else out there have this successfully treated? - Good luck - Cam W.
