> I've been taking Celexa for nearing 2 weeks now and wonder if the headache that I've had for the past 2 1/2 days has any association with the Celexa. I'm very new to AD's and it was prescribed for moderate to severe depression.
> I'm still on the 20 mg level and will be moved to 40 mg very soon.I have severe headaches when I take the entire Celexa dose at once. I stated at 20 mg and really only had problems related to anorexia. I couldn't eat anything. This resolved somewhat and my doctor upped my dose to 40 mg, since 20 mg did not touch my depression. I could not take the entire dose at once, so I split the dose and took 20 in the morning and 20 mg at tnight. My doc said this was fine.
Just the other day I tried to take the entire 40 mg at night and woke up with a whopper of a headache. This is after being on Celexa 40 mg for about 3 months.
So, in my opinion, Celexa when taken all at once can cause headaches.
Perhaps a split dose will also help you. Ask your doc about headaches from Celexa. From my experience with many AD's, they can all cause headaches, which to me are incapacitating and are not releived with OTC medications.
Good luck on celexa. I have had good results with it.
