Dear Mary -- this is a very interesting question, and I have asked myself the same question. Before finally beginning medication for depression, I was extremely sad -- for years. But I rarely cried. I chalk it up to just not being a crier! I think some people just naturally cry more than others. I would look forward to hearing other people's opinions about this. Obviously there's probably something much more deeper-rooted than my simple opinion! Take care.
