I have started two methamphetamine-abusing patients with a history for major depression on Remeron 15mg for treatment of agitated depression. The dose was increased to 30mg after 2 weeks. Both patients have seen an improvement in their agitation and insomnia but are now complaining of blisters in the mouth. Both patients say that they are consuming plenty of water. One of the patients has blistering on the roof of her mouth, the other has it on the inside of her lips. Both noticed this on the 15mg dose, but became quite bothered by it after the dose was increased to 30mg. I have stopped the medication for both patients. Has anyone heard or has read case-reports on this type of reaction?
