I am 19 years off benzos and all medications and I have gone back into the exact benzo withdrawal symptoms I had originally twice. The first time at 14 years for 6 months and now it is over two years and totally disabled. I am in contact with another man with a similar return to symptoms.
This is not anxiety and we have both been through every medical test known to man, it is benzo symptoms 100% and was brought on by minor stress and fatigue. Anyone know of anyone who has had this happen.

Anyone know of anyone who has had this happen. It sounds as if you went through a hell of a time when you first came off the BZDs. I have this idea that you might have kindled a syndrome that, much like epilepsy, gets worse over time with each successive episode and that can be triggered by stress, with the degree of stress needed to trigger an episode becomes less and less.
Does it take less stress now to trigger an episode than it did years ago?

I would say yes - I had loads of stress after benzo recovery and never had a breakdown. Then the one in 2004 lasted 6 months and now this one is over 2 years and not remitting...and much more severe.

Scott, please, what syndrome? And does this occur only with benzo w/drawal or in general? Much, much less stress is needed for me to have reactive responses.
