I have been off it and prozac for 6 days now, due to ins. reasons, and I'm having i think withdrawl symptoms. Last night in particular, i had horrible hallucinations...everytime i closed my eyes, i thought i was falling, or that i was being possessed, or having somekind of out of body experience, and i was hearing things....it was one of the scariest things I've experienced.
Has anyone else ever experience this? When i was first put on bupropion i was hearing voices but that went away eventually. I was so scared to fall asleep lastnight. And today, i feel so detached. A little hypomanic, or maybe just high.
Sometimes I wonder if these meds are making me better, or just making me dependant on them?

It's normal to experience derealisation, anxiety reactions when stopping these meds. Both have long half lives ( especially Fluouextine) so the withdrawal probably won't be that bad, but it could be protracted. ( weeks)
Bupropion is an interesting drug for me, in ,that after discontinuation and withdrawal, I do feel that things have generally improved in the cognitive and mood departments. You can also use Bupropion on an on and off basis, and still get good results.( ocasional recreational use)
I have a saying, "if you can't abuse it, then don't use it"

I get mine for free through the drug company and I don't have a very low income. Prozac is available genertic at walmart. I feel like that on the bupropion when I miss a dose or two, which I do sometimes. It would have been better if you could have weaned yourself off.

SB,
Not to be the voice of gloom and doom but WB was the final straw in my deciding to taper off of all psyc meds. Initially, I thought it seemed like a great drug compared to what I call SSRI he---.
But this drug considerably worsened my LD symptoms plus gave me tinnitus and possible hearing loss. It also combined with the other drugs to make me numb and devoid of all feelings. Now that I am off of it, things have improved although I am still suffering lingering effects such as tinnitus.
