i went overseas and left my meds at a london hotel, they were then stolen. i am on prozac welburtrin, risperdol and klonopin. i freaked out. by the 2nd day without the meds it was uncontrollable wheeping and crying and severe malasia.i got worse everyday. could it have been serious? finally got my meds four days later in rome. how sick could i have gotten if i didn't get my meds. i thought i was going to die.

Depends on the dosages and how long you were on them (especially Klonopin). You definitely could have suffered from seizures. Death, very unlikely.

Well you're back on your meds and that worry is over. I imagine you were very scared. Phillipa

Actually, a lot of what you were experiencing may have been linked to the anxiety about whether you'd have withdrawal. The Klonopin is the only one of those that I would expect to cause problems, and most of what happened to you was likely related to it.
The reason I say all that is that Prozac's very, very long half-life in the body acts as a sort of self-taper. The amount circulating stays high enough, long enough, that there's very rarely any problem. In fact, single smallish doses of Prozac are often given as a way to minimize withdrawal from other drugs, like Effexor. (And I forgot to take my Effexor along on a trip once -- and nearly had to go to the hospital. It's BRUTAL.) The Prozac would have minimized withdrawal from the other drugs, even though they're unrelated classes. Except the Klonopin, and how bad that would be is pretty dose dependant.
I'm glad you got the meds again in Rome. I hope your trip was good overall.
This is the end of the thread.
