Neurontin withdrawal?!

Posted by SummerMoods on October 3, 2007, at 14:04:52

Has anyone had withdrawal from Neurontin? including cardiac symptoms from having to abruptly stop Neurontin? (rapid heart rate at times, flushing, sweating, shortness of breath..also headache, nausea)...it has been going on for over a week and as soon as it starts getting better it starts right back up!
I have been to the ER, they found nothing. I'm going for a stress test per my GP but I'm pretty darn sure it's withdrawal...I'm just wondering if that med can cause permanent cardiac damage?
This is much worse than Effexor withdrawal was for me.

Hi,

How fast are you tapering the meds? It sounds like you might have to taper very slowly with this med.

The brain needs time to chemically adapt to having less of the meds and too fast of a withdrawal with some meds can put someone in a tailspin.

I am not a doctor but am speaking soley from experience and doing research on this issue.
