freedom

hiking trail right off of 360. i like early and i got to the big rock. i sat on it and saw the austin skyline miles away.
the same rock i sat on 21 years ago when my mom was dying. i'll be back soon cause i'm living in 3/4 time. nothing makes it better all the way and i begin to doubt myself.
i do what i can do to push on and see it through. but this, this, this will lay your *ss down. all the money in the world to operate on a broken spirit will never work.
you can't slice a cloud to make it rain
or stop a baby crying when she's in pain
or make a happy man from a criminally insane
or make onlookers feel his suffering thru their disdain
i crawled down the rock and looked around
part of me wanted it for my little town
safe and tucked away with skin turning brown
even voices in my head don't make a sound
freedom.

FREEDOM

Freedom to seek happiness. Freedom to settle for less.

If you feel less than free, then you are not free at all.

If you feel less than happy and fulfilled, perhaps you settle for mere content.

If you believe that happiness is not yours to have, you may never have it... although I assure you it waits for you.

If you believe that freedom is not yours to have, I hereby grant you your freedom... although it is not mine to give.

You must give it to yourself.
