The singer for the Norwegian metal band, Mayhem, was believed to have suffered from Cotard's. His given name was Per Ohlin, stage name Death. He had suffered a near fatal beating, by bullies, as a child, and later demonstrated such idiosyncrasies as burying his clothes before performances and keeping a dead bird, which he could smell before performances. His unfortunate passing in 1991, at age 22, gave rise to the Norwegian black metal scene, which would become infamous not only for his death, but also a number of church burnings in Norway. The tragedies visited upon the minds of men seem to know no bounds. If there is a God, there are a few things I would like to discuss with Him.
