This one's coming up first. Would anybody else like to do something fun together in New Orleans?
Bob
PS: Unfortunately, I'm no longer going to make it to Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe.

Sure.
It'll be much cooler than the last time you came. It's actually a lovely time in New Orleans. I'm not sure if it's too late for the Redbuds and Japanese Magnolias, and the Sweet Olives are in lovely scent now. I'm not sure how long they last. But the azaleas should be in their full glory.

I'm in Sonoma, North of San Fran in wine country - and am involved in couchsurfing, which means I have places for people to stay nearby. Specifically, in Sebastopol. Yay! If people want to come up to wine country, let me know, and I'll plan some fun trips! I'll even be the designated driver! ;) Or San Francisco is fine too. Just let me know and I'll plan something groovy! :) Hari/Karrot

Cool!
I would love to visit wine country. I'm pretty sure Dr. Bob is just going to SF though as he usually has conferences to attend on his trips around the world.
SF or wine country, either sound great to me.
I hope to see you!

I know three babblers (all old-timers) in Austin who might be up for a cup of coffee. I was thinking this can be a tough crowd to get together and do fun stuff...lol. I have about as much energy as a stop at a coffee shop would take, plus enough left to get back home.
I will check this page again to see how things are progressing; I would enjoy meeting Dr. Bob a lot. In the meantime, I hope everybody is doing well and hanging in there.

Good to be back here again and to see you're still interested in meeting your peeps.Since writing the above, I realized I should add that I and one of the other old-timers have to be home before dark. Partayy! <--joke But, even if not at one of the clubs Austin is known for, we can finally meet and have clever conversation over coffee.
As for a place, not sure where you'll be, and we're in the boonies, so being in touch on babblemail sounds good; we will probably come into town to closer to where you are.

Bowls a 162!!!
Yes, Dr. Bob is a good bowler. Again I must shift my perception of him. I'm sure Dr. Bob was far too polite to notice what I bowled. I know I was far too kind to myself to remember the totals. :)
Eric Lyndell was at the Rock N Bowl. Since you guys weren't there, here is a close approximation. Without the bowling.

It would be a pleasure and a gift to hang out with you and others who might be in the area when you come to SF. I live in the city and would definitely like to meet/hang out and might be able to help plan if necessary?

Cool!
I wish I could have been there! :-)
To see one of my best pals on Babble and Dr. Bob....what more can I ask for? LOL
Did you go bowling?
I'm so super busy these days that vacation seems like a theoretical concept. LOL
I got promoted to an HR position at my work and it is always crazy with deadlines, crises and phones ringing all the time.
I'll be training new hires, screening resumes, doing interviews, hiring/firing etc. I'm supposed to help replace our current "acting manager" right now.
I would be so bad at bowling that I'm sure it will be hilarious. LOL I imagine gutter ball after gutter ball. LOL
Well, I'm glad you had fun and hopefully one of these days I can spare some time to get together with Babblers.

As much as I'm sorry you weren't there, I'm very glad that it was for such a good reason.
You're doing great, Deneb. Do you still occasionally see your pdoc? She must be so proud of you.

It was definitely a case of keeping it simple. I used to be able to hook the ball, but I actually did better just being a straight shooter, so to speak. Or maybe it was the shrimp and grits. Anyway, I had a lot of fun. I'd never been to a bowling alley with live music before!
It was also good to brainstorm about Babble. Looking forward to Austin next,
Bob
