the only strength i have left in my right now is to listen to one of my greatest loves, music.

they don't make 'em like this any more:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yns_bhtFq3U

but at least we still have tom waits, leonard cohen, keith richards, clapton, paige...

i dunno, but jimi is speaking to me here...g-d i'm dramatic! i heard he played a performance where some music guy & clapton were holding hands and weeping listening to him. it's rumored that clapton was devastated listening to jimi because he didn't think he could ever play that way...

Voted the ugliest girl in school, and then voted the ugliest boy in school as well.

But maybe I am wrong about that.

I liked LC on her.........

And clenching your fist for the others like us who're obsessed by the figures of beauty
You fixed yourself. You said
Oh never mind, we are ugly but we have the music.

There is a very funny army report on JH.

I don't recall that much of it. But I do remember

'Pte Hendrix claims to play the guitar'.

And also something like

'He will not follow orders and spends all his spare time in the toilet masturbating'.

Mitch Mitchell basically invented fusion. Two instruments sharing the lead. He and Noel Redding weren't even full band members.
About 6 months after Hendrix died Mitchell had to sell one of his guitars to pay rent.
Not too cool for one of the best drummers of our time.

crazy, huh? a lot of these guys were so tragic: syd barrett, janis, keith moon, brian jones, john bonham, morrison--all greats and so doomed and destitute by the end. they were pioneers, though, true music greats.

@Phil (and Sigi)

I just thought of your comment above Phil, while listening to MD yet another time. Someone commented they should've been called the "The Jimi Mitchell Experience."
Touche. Was JH even bipolar? Or it's just figurative...?
