> I am intrigued by the idea that a psychotherapeutic milieu can be provided by Psycho-Babble. You would make a good facilitator. Does it make sense to establish a new board for this? ... I think I like what you are trying here. However, it might be a bit intrusive and overpowering at first. If there were a separate "Group" board, the people who would go there would be very motivated to engage in facilitated therapeutic conversations.

I've started this thread to experiment further with this approach. More about how this approach works: The idea would be for me to join Scott if I felt on the same page as him. But I might not. But that would be valid, too.

So I wouldn't post on that thread, for people on the same page as Scott, but start a new thread, for people on the same page as me. That way, conflicting feelings wouldn't be posted on the same thread, and there would be a higher chance of *everyone* feeling supported.

Giving that a try:

--

I have a different view. I wouldn't want anyone to get the idea that it's psychotherapy.

Also, I'm facilitating this right now, and could continue. It might not continue to be needed, however, and of course I've been known to disappear. And I wouldn't want anyone to be drawn to the facilitated aspect and then feel disappointed.

So I'd prefer to bill it as something other than "facilitated therapeutic" conversations.

Anybody else on my wavelength?

Bob

Ok, what to call it then?
I don't even know what it is yet.

The goal is not feeling alone. And not getting into arguments. What to call that?

Group-actualized relational communication?

I don't know.

Whatever it is, it sounds like a good thing.

This place has helped me to not feel alone during times when I felt most separated from the world. It helped me to feel connected.

Arguments? What are you talking about!

I am less argumentative and defensive now than I was 10 years ago, although I can't see myself being entirely without argument. I credit much of this to the communication skills I learned here. There is still room for improvement, though, and I defy anyone to prove otherwise.

I like that.

I was once a member of a group called Community Connection. We put out a newsletter called Connections. It was a nice concept.
