Once I asked her what the depression felt like and she talked about wanting to throw herself off every building site she walked past.
(It is possible for consciousness to be a joy and I don't understand why it is often so hellish.)
Parnate worked for her once and she mentioned that often.

I have nothing to contribute just yet. I would just say that, upon reading this about Maxime, I reacted with a gasp, my hand held over my mouth, and a small trickle of tears. I guess that shows how real people are on the Internet, even when they know each other only through cyberspace. I am profoundly sad. Maxime was very likeable and a hard worker. She suffered.

I smiled whenever I saw her name posted on the board. I guess that means something.
I am still profoundly sad.

Thanks for passing along this information. I am very sorry indeed to read this. I know she suffered so badly and wish she could have known better days. She seemed like a really good soul.

Maxime you soul will be rerembered and I will look up and rerember everything you posted. Even the disagreements. I still am sad....she was a good person, and understanding even through her hard battle with depression and self hatred that helped me learn about her and some of myself.

I was so sad to hear about this. Her presence here added so much, and the story of her struggles was so poignant.
I especially enjoyed getting to know her more personally in chat, and I will be forever grateful for her teaching me the French name for the traditional French Canadian dish my family enjoys every holiday season.
Au revoir, Maxime, a truly beautiful soul.

Maxime was a good friend to many here, me certainly, and I felt her departure from babble keenly. Extraordinary? Yes, yes she was. I admired her wit and intelligence that belied her depression. Her compassion and fierce defense of the underdog.
I don't know what else to say right now.

Then there was her love of more earthy humor that would make me snort whatever I might be drinking through my nose....

Maxime & I had an on and off relationship. We were close at times and then separate. She endured many hardships both with work and her Mother. How did you come to find out of Maxime's Untimely death? May her soul rest in piece. Love Phillipa

Thank you for telling us, Dr. Bob.
Oh, I just don't know the words.
She once posted something so kind and supportive to me on the Eating board. I'd link to it, but obviously I can't.
I'm still processing this. I used to pray for Maxime. I always worried....but you figure there is always hope :-(
I can't think straight about this yet. I'll try to post something coherent after I can take a full breath when I think of this. Not right yet though.

Phillipa,
Don't you think that if Dr. Bob wanted to share such sensitive and private details, he probably would have done so in his initial post? He normally says what he has carefully decided to say, especially in matters as serious as a poster's death, and then no more.
Do you really imagine he will answer questions about this here? I don't.
Why don't you email him if you have questions? I don't mean to be difficult or to pick on you, but Dr. Bob asked if we could remember and say goodbye, not discuss this aspect.
I find these questions jarring to read here.

I am not lying when I say I thought to myself, just the other day, "I wonder how Maxime is doing?"
This is so disheartening. I hope she found peace.

I never got too much into the meds page, but I certainly remember her.
I remember thinking that she suffered a lot, and I know a lot of people here cared about her.
I'm sorry that it turned out this way.

I remember how much pain she was always in. Sometimes she said she couldn't go on. I remember trying to find ways to say that there was hope and that her life could be different. But sometimes I found it hard to believe because the pain seemed so palpable and suffocating in her writing. She really could make you feel the immediacy of it-- how much she suffered and how relentless it was.
I remember once when she lost a job.
It's awful if it never got better.

you know all the arguements and fights i got in it with her....she was a vary nice person in the end when i became .. maybe somewhat friends...i stopped being negative and deragotory to her...there's many many many more posts but this is the post that was on google search with my name on it....everyone on the net can read this....i need to get it removed....
this all started in 2004 and arguements and friction lasted i think till....what 2008-2009? i don't know. She was a good poster and provided info and support to others even when she was suffering herself.

I remember her, She fought so hard, for So long.
She had such a strong personality.
I had hoped that she was well as reason for no posts.
Her manner of death doesn't matter to me.
She is gone. I feel a pain of sadness in my chest.
I will light a candle for her that she may have eternal peace. she Certainly deserves it.
Bless you Maxime, thank you for touching my soul.b2c.

Mainly to all but after teading RJLockhart37 comment/reply, thanks
Thanks for posting this, I also have had other names, and forget them so sign on with others too. Tonight was one of those times, and somehow I came across the rememberence of Maxime. Can't say I even remember her, but after reading her post, that you posted, it brought tears to my eyes, just to see her pain and how the whole psychiatry tried but failed with her case, and in the end did not really help her. Im not making judgment on the psychiatry world, here, just could imagine like she says dealing with someone speaking another language trying to help you, etc... As we all know there is good and bad in everything. Just that Dr.Bob, has made this site is showing how great a Dr. can be and helpful too. But, her post through RJLockharts, also shows this person having a very BIG heart, to say those kind words, to the other posters while fighting the fight.Seeing this also reminds us of our own destinies, and that there will be an end one way or another to life. Cherish, your good moments, talk about your bad, and try and get some happiness out of life. And somedays it might be as little as burying my face in my cats fur, or eating a bowl of ice cream. I know in my own life, that the bad can seem to have a way of taking over even the good, the small moments of happiness., in a way where its all you relate with. Almost like it becomes so common, its hard to even feel good. Almost like you dont deserve it or something. All you can relate with is a painful life. But we must prevail, force ourselves to get up, take a walk. a hike, run, drive your car, sit under a big tree, have a cup of coffee, read a book. Have you ever sat around feeling terrible, only to let it ruin the day. But then have you ever forced yourself out, and have actually turned your day around. Action does help. So in this rememberence of Maxime, I would just like to say her life wasnt in vain, and she did help people, and her posts are here for the world, to reflect, learn, and maybe help ourselves. We live in a society (well the us), that is uncaring, thrives on taking advantage of people, doesnt care about the aging, insensitive, cutthroat, and it really is getting worse and worse, selfishness is a good descriptive word. Its hard out here, we need to start caring about one another. Maxime, and alot of other people that have a caring side dont do well in this world (I believe), and that doesnt help with any kind of mental issue, and probably is the cause of many. Finally I would just like to say Thanks Maxime...
