I went there once. I posted something there about Bill O'Reilly once. I like Bill. Apparantly many people on that board did not.

I think it's okay. I believe I was decent.
I wanted clarification on a remark I didn't quite understand.
I like to learn and consider and be open to other viewpoints, especially if I know they are pretty far from my own. I hope it's makes me wiser and more empathetic.
It's just hard here, sometimes, to know how to do that right. Or IRL, for that matter.

oh I know. I remember. I posted on that thread in support of you. I got sort of a....shocked and dismayed reaction, but a civil one, still.
Another poster seemed to assume anyone who watches Fox News, and/or listens to Bill's *commentary* and *opinions*, *only* gets their info from there, and therefore is kinda....brainwashed maybe? (not a quote, just the general implication). So, I explained I, and I'll bet, many others get our news from many sources, and basically, just 'cause we like Bill doesn't mean we agree with his every position, or believe FNC personnel are gods, or would follow Mr. O'Reilly off a cliff <grin>
It was an okay discussion, but died out right away, if I recall.
ps - lynn, Bill's on here right now...;-)
pps - you're braver 'cause you *started* a thread!!

That's exactly why I'm scared to go there. I hate when people bash other's opinions, and that always seems to happen when discussing politics.

Thank you for that. It was an extremely gracious thing to post. I don't know what to say.
I've read all you wrote - over there. You were very clear and it took some time to express all that. I appreciate it - gives me a lot to think about. You've written some wonderful stuff on Faith too...yes, I noticed :-)
It comes through in your writing you've personally suffered a lot around this issue in your life. I hate that that's true. I hate that we wound each other (family can be the worst, sadly) with ignorance, cruelty and shame.
Don't want to get too deep or specific here on Social, but I will say that whatever Christian beliefs and principles I hold to, none of them must ever *trump* kindness, fairness and compassion. If they start to, it means my own relationship with God is not right.
After all, God is love. Take care, Dee. Maybe we'll chat some more - here, there or somewhere.

Hey 10 :-)
Girl, are you brave or what. Though my posting on admin was big but I've just read your post and WOW I couldn't be more prouderer of you. What an excellent, awesome post. And because of the way you responded seems others responded likewise and took similar care and it turned out to be a great thread.
There's so much to admire about the way you post 10. Not just that one but every one. You somehow manage to get it just so right just so very often. Your tag for me is a sign of safety and comfort. So thank you okay.
