I have had the strangest few days… Maybe the planets are aligned some crazy way…
Earlier this week I was at Cracker Barrel for lunch on a weekday (which is HIGHLY unusual for me), when I noticed that a lady standing behind me who looked very familiar. I knew her. Haven’t seen her since 1989! And even then, she was an acquaintance, not a good friend. Anyway, I spoke to make sure- it was her. She was vacationing near here, and she still lives in our hometown, 2 hrs. away.
Yesterday afternoon I decided to look up some blogs on myspace.com- just out of curiosity. I put in my hometown zip code and found 1 profile that I recognized. This guy had been the boyfriend of one of my high school friends. Then down the list of his friends’ comments was my very first boyfriend!!! I have googled this old boyfriend of mine several times because I have been so curious where he went, how he turned out in life! Plus, I had heard rumors that he was a stripper at one point. Haven’t seen him since 1987. Anyway, he has a profile on myspace, and is the lead singer for some band. From his appearance in his photo, it is probably a speed metal / grunge band. He is all tatted up, with a goatee. Not my type at all, but I have had to stifle the urge to leave him a message, make contact, see if he remembers me. What do ya’ll think? (I am very happily married.)
Then last night I was at a book signing, and my friend’s husband walked by. I was so surprised to see someone I recognized that I spoke to him, and he was very nice, even waited in line with me for a couple of minutes to chat. Thing is, she’s not happy and planning to leave. It was very awkward on the inside for me…
Hope you all are having a great week- and hope ya’ll have a terrific weekend!!

Hey there Mal, I'd let it go. I think(and I may be wrong)that contacting old love interests gets misinterpreted too often.
How would you feel if you knew your husband had been in contact with an old flame?
Anyway, let me know what you think.Phil

Phil, you are right. I WOULD NOT appreciate it if DH did that. Besides, it looks like Old Flame and I don't have A THING in common as adults. It's just funny-weird. Oh, and he has misstated his age by 6 years on his profile. I thought only women lied about their age!! LOL ANyway, thanks for your response, Phil.

Lied about his age? Even the Stones admit they're geezers. Sheesh! That's kinda funny.

Hmmm...interesting coincidences...
Maybe they just seem incredible because you noticed them today?
People probably run into people they haven't seen in a while all the time. Maybe most of the time they just don't realize it.
