My first cousin, who is also my third cousin, and I were very close. Our dads were brothers and our moms are first cousins. Anyway she and her daughter were killed by a train while crossing a railroad track. She left behind two boys. There father is a deadbeat. He is nowhere around.
Ok. Her oldest son is 17 and her youngest son is 12. They live with my elderly aunt who just finished a bout of breast cancer. So I take him to my house every afternoon to do homework because he has some learning disabilities. He is not in special education, he just has a harder time learning than a lot of kids.My husband does not like me to take him to my house. Ew, he makes me so mad. That is so selfish. This little boy has noone. I lost 4 little boys due to miscarraiges. You would think my husband would enjoy having a little boy around. Ew, he is selfish. I am mad at him!!!!
This little boy is a part of my family. I will not abandon him.

Good for you lynn! Our world would be a much better place if you decide to clone yourself a thousand times!
Why do you think he is acting this way? Is he jealous of your time with him? Does he feel like this lucky boy is being put ahead of him? (As in you don't make supper but help the boy instead?) Is it because he's grieving the loss of sons and it is painful for him to see you with another child? Would he feel better if you took him to the library?
What you're doing is fantastic! It's great that you take the time and make the effort to make a difference in this boy's life!!!!

You are a good person with a giving heart. Your husband should appreciate that in you. It's sad that he doesn't. Maybe you can try explaining to him what it means to you to help this boy out. Maybe then he will understand you and your feelings more.
I'm sure that boy appreciates what you do for him. He's lead a difficult life so far and you are showing him much compassion. He's very lucky to have you.
