Sometimes you just don't know what to do or where to go with your lonliness, so today I thought I'd come here.
To paraphrase Emily Dickinson:
Hi! I'm Lonely!
Are you?
Then there's two of us!

Me three.
It's been a tough week after ending my outpatient programme. Very alone. it is a rotten feeling especially when you try to reach out.

Me four. I can't keep friends. I think there's something wrong with me. People love me at first, then I drive them away. Whether intentionally or not, I don't know. :-(

I'm in. Oh, and I sent Dr Bob an email reminding him about the Self Esteem board a bunch of us asked for.
Kind of important to me at the moment, you know??

A self esteem board sounds great. I think I remember seeing a post about that once. I could really use that too right now clearskies.

That sounds great. I wonder if he's going to do it. We could encourage people who are going through what we've been through, and visa versa.
I have to tell about something really disturbing I saw today. Don't read this if you're really upset by hurt animals. I was driving my nephew home today and I saw this kitten in the road, it had apparently been run over. Its back legs looked broken, and it was dragging itself across the road with its front legs. I freaked out. I burst into tears and was like, oh my God!!!! My nephew was concerned, so I eventually told him about it (after a half dozen more "Oh my God!"'s). I told him I just couldn't get it out of my head. He said, well don't put it in my head! (He's 7 by the way). I ended up going around the block, but I got stuck at an eternal red light. I saw what looked like someone stopping to get it in my rearview mirror. By the time I got back around it was gone.
For some reason this reminded me of a vague memory I have of being in the car when I was little, and seeing a homeless man, and my Mom saying, "That poor guy." For some reason it just resonated in me. I think its what taught me the meaning of compassion. I can't help but wonder how the things that I do are going to shape my nephew's life. I hope its the good things he remembers.
Oh, and something funny. I took a curve a little too fast while driving with my nephew yesterday, kind of throwing us to the side, and he said, "Damn girl!". I told him that was a bad word while trying not to show I was giggling my *ss off.

Thanks for saying I'm sweet. Your responses to my posts last summer helped me a lot. (summer 2004). I have always remembered you as being honestly well meaning and nice.

Ah-h-h. You're going to make me cry. You know, you never know if you're really helping anyone with your responses. But like I told rjlockhart98 in a post above, there's just no way of knowing what kind of impact you may be making on other people. Its like the whole butterfly effect. Its also the reason to commit random acts of kindness. You may never know the result, but sometimes its enough just to try.

Same here, I have no idea if my posts help. Although, many times I have difficulty posting what I wanna post to people, like I'll think what I have to say is stupid, or doesn't fit with everyone else's responses, but I agree. random acts of kindness are great.

I haven't been posting as much as usual lately... have been at a loss for words as my cognitive skills are, er... um... lacking.
I feel badly that there are posters to whom I could be saying supportive things but I'm too finger-tied to post.
Also there is that "thread killer" effect that it feels like I have sometimes. So I keep quiet when I wish I didn't.
It says much more about me than it does about the others - my poor self image does keep kicking me in the butt lately.Oh, and Dr Bob promised the Self Esteem board (there is a thread on Admin about it and I'm too lazy to link to it) a while ago. I just nudged him about it in my email.

Clear Skies he did say he would. And now is a very good time. My jeans are too tight and shorts will soon be out. And then no more long t-shirts to cover fat stomach. What can I wear then? My daughter said "cute sweat suits and sneakers" But I'm just not cute anymore and the Gap like she suggested is definitely out. And BTW this l00lb woman made my day Friday she said that a six 6 used to be a l2 because people tend to be heavier today so they make clothes larger so people will think they're skinny. Why did she have to say that? Fondly, Phillipa

Did you ask her if she new first hand?! And regardless if a 6 or 12 or above, you will never please everyone so learn to please yourself...I'm sorry she said that to you. I have low self esteem and it can easily be shattered too. Would u feel better if i told you a 6 would fit my arms..lol ; ) And PJ~it really is what's on the inside that counts but you're lovely on the outside too!

Can I be in the club too? :) Should it be the Lonely Club, or the Lonely Hearts Club, or what?
By the way, what is "babblemail?"

Babblemail is like an E-mail. If a posters name is lit up in blue their Babblemail is on. Since yours is black it's off so noone can contact you privately. It's a great way to make friends and talk privately. Go back to registration page and click on Babblemail. Then when you want to contact them click on their name in blue and Babblemail appears. Then you type them a message and click send and only that person gets the message in their mailbox. Fondly, Phillipa

I was thinking of lonely hearts club too! I don't care what we name it tho. I'm just glad to have somewhere to go when I'm lonely. Our theme song can be:
Some times you wanna go where everybody knows your naaaaaame
And they're always glad you caaaaaame. :-)

I totally love that theme song Angela2! But I also like the theme from "The Love Boat," which doesn't so much apply. :)
