If so, please kindly let me know. :-)
I forget sometimes that other people do not feel the way I do. My cheerfulness and jesting is not intented to make anyone feel badly. I remember people saying once that being around happy people can make one feel more depressed. I really hope I'm not doing that. I really am learning how to behave here. Sometimes things are not obvious to me. So, just let me know if I'm being annoying. :-)Deneb (Shy_Girl)

Well, obviously I can only speak for myself and I just got here, but I will say no, you are not annoying. I have heard and somewhat agree to what you are referring to about others but I think that;s only when they are OVERLY cheerful, to the point where it seems fake anyway. i do not get that impression from you. :)

Let me ask you. Was I annoying when I was smart-alecky with your raccoon and kitty thread?

Now, why do you judge yourself more harshly than you do me?
Immediately following my question to you, still shown above, there was some more of what you originally posted:
"My cheerfulness and jesting is not intented (sic) to make anyone feel badly."It's a good exercise, sometimes, to compare your self-talk to that you offer others. I think you are sometimes stricter (more biased?) with yourself than you are with me, for example.

P.S. Your raccoon and cat joke did somewhat made me think about what my joking around does...perhaps it was a little unexpected, but it was funny all the same! I just can't believe you could link that to what I said later about being annoying...even I couldn't do that.
I'm just amazed by your insight. :-)

I've ridden the Earth around the Sun a few more times than you have. That adds up.
I've had a lot of therapy. I've read a lot of books. I've done a lot of thinking. I've done a lot of thinking about thinking.
Cognition has a profound effect on how you feel. And you can have a profound effect on cognition.
Wisdom isn't wisdom unless it's passed along. I don't own it, and what I have I've borrowed.
Recovery. Coping. Management. Whatever you want to call what you do to smoothe the rough edges of existence, you find it where you find it. One hope is to find it in a concentrated form, in a therapist's office. But it's all around you.> P.S. Your raccoon and cat joke did somewhat made me think about what my joking around does...perhaps it was a little unexpected, but it was funny all the same! Yet.
It's a very small word, but a very powerful one.

> DenebI'm glad. I like hearing about other people's light bulb moments. My words would be meaningless, without your own willingness to consider them in your own context. The insight was yours.
