Hi susan, Bob was a little mysterious. I feel less suspicious of his motives now. He impressed me as a genuinely nice guy. But that won't stop me from giving him sh*t every now and then. He is still the king. Peasants must mock the king.

Wish you had been there girlfriend, although who knows what would have happened if we had ducked out of the rain together.

Couldn't have been me. I ordered the coconut shrimp like All_Done, although there was this piece of chicken in with my shrimp that I gave to Spoc. God knows what she did with it.

Did you hear the server's comment about one coconut at each end of the table? Yeah, he thought he was real funny.

Although I must admit it was pretty cute when my son was eating ice cream with falls at the zoo and he handed it to me and said, "all done".

...you KNOW I'm not allowed off that one Admin party thread anymore but my unpointy ears were burning!! Fine, so you caught me, and I made it rain too! (Actually, no one should have been surprised by that, anything I help pick is prone to natural and unnatural disasters! But the hurricane did add a little something if I do say so myself. ;-)

Hmmm, your way sounds a wee bit better, even though many of them were actually bred for things like chasing rats out of mines ahead of the coal miners... And matter of fact, I had a four pound toy poochie myself, who I am pretty sure was bred to be an eyeshadow applicator...

I wonder where it was, that you ate, because, having chicken mixed in accidentally, with seafood, is very bad. Very very bad indeed, for a restaurant.
I don't eat out very much. Really.

entendre for? Please tell, because I'm thinking coconut might also refer to someone who's nuts, and I'm thinking that maybe there were two orders of the coconut shrimp, one at each end of the table, and by referring to the coconuts he meant the dish itself but could've also been talking about you? I'm wondering if that's what it is. Because if it is, it wasn't that hard, actually, for me to get there, but man I shouldn't have had to spend all this time thinking about it, to get there. It should be automatic for me to get that, and I still don't know if I got it. I've always been the ditz, you know, the one who couldn't think on her feet. Never could, maybe never will.

You know I had the "Shrimp Cobb Salad", and *IT* had chicken in it, too. Which surprised me because there was a Chicken Cobb Salad, and the one I got was "With shrimp instead of chicken". But there was absolutely lots of chicken in it.

Funny, since it was a shrimp place, that they have too much chicken around.

In the East, where I live, the rain tends to be different from what we saw there. Our rain is fairly consistent. The person 3 feet away from you will get equally wet as you do. But during that downpour it was more like every once in a while someone took a bucket of water and just dumped it. My umbrella wasn't much help (but my black shirt helped Poet win).

Maybe next time when they say that a big storm is coming we'll be smart enough to get out of the rain... It's just that they seemed so confident that the umbrellas would protect us. Duh, not when the rain is travelling sideways!!

That whole zoo thing was great. AllDone Jr. is adorable - and he agreed to be my Ice Cream King. He has perfected the technique of licking the ice cream with absolute joy. I am not too old to learn from a 2 year old!

And I felt so loved (literally) because AllDone drove me to the airport - but first we had to drive past her therapist's office. It is such a thrill to me to show people my therapist's building (why???), so it was great to see hers! And then we were getting close to the airport and she asked what airline I was on, and I looked up and saw that she was taking me to the wrong airport! Obviously, she just wanted to spend more time with me. My flight wasn't for hours still, so we had a nice time driving around in Chicago. Her car was comfortable, the company was great, and we had live entertainment in the back seat!

The epic saga

Well, I got over my fear of flying. That was big for me. I think it was the Risperdal and Klonopin. But the flight was uneventful. The taxi ride into town took a heck of a long time. I am never going to complain about traffic here again. We don't know the meaning of the word.

After checking in at the hotel, and dragging my bedraggled self into the elevator, who should greet me by name but Auntie Mel! I had sent her my photo, and also described what I was going to wear. But it was nice to be recognized. After a much needed bath (for me of course, not saying Auntie Mel needed a bath), Auntie Mel and I joined together to walk to the restaurant. That was great because I didn't have to worry about getting lost or finding the place and walking in alone. And since I'd already met a Babbler I was surprisingly unafraid.

We met up with PartlyCloudy outside the restaurant. Thank heavens for pink and yellow! Since everyone knows I'm a two hundred pound woman in pink and yellow, I think it made it easy for me to be spotted. :)

Annierose was already there. Unbeknownst to any of us she had arranged to decorate the table and have a special Babble birthday occasion. What a wonderful surprise! You're terrific Annierose.

We sat at one of those tall tables to wait for the others. Naturally I almost fell over on my head while trying to put my cell phone back in my purse. I recognized Dr. Bob right away, of course - since I've been seeing his picture for years. He looked rather surprised to see us, and even expressed surprise. I wasn't sure if he meant he was touched or he meant he thought we were all touched (in the head). I also recognized Falls right away, because I'd seen her photo as well. Spoc and Rainbowbrite I don't think realized who we were at first, and were sitting together for a while, but eventually we all met up. I was so happy to meet All Done. Gardenergirl, poor thing, got a bit lost on the way, but arrived safe and sound. And Poet got a bit lost as well, but similarly arrived safe and sound.

Dinner was delicious. We played the projective test game Annierose had set up, along with the delightful gift bags. I ate rather more than I should have, I expect. But every bite was worth it. I sat near the middle and was craning my head in both directions trying to hear all conversations at once, and consequently only hearing bits of all of them.

After dinner, not wanting the night to end, we went up to the top of one of the buildings, darned if I remember which one, and had a drink up there. Poor Annierose wasn't feeling well, and had to leave us. :( I, of course, being the klutz I am, spilled my drink all over everyone while gesturing as I spoke. Boy, was my face red! And I was only drinking diet coke too! Ah well, at least they know the real me.

Very very late (for me at least), we called it a night and Auntie Mel and I walked back. Chicago is a lively town at night.

Everyone felt like an old friend. It was like we just took up speaking where we left off on the board.

Okay...I'm not entirely sure what the server was talking about myself, but I got the sense he was calling me and Toph each a coconut. We were at opposite ends of the table and we both ordered the coconut shrimp. When he served them (surprisingly with shrimp and not chicken), he made a point of telling me there was "one coconut (with emphasis on nut) at each end of the table". And he laughed. I'm pretty sure I'm insulted, but I also believe he needs to brush up on his trash talking skills.

If you still don't understand, I think that might be okay.

P.S. "Run Forrest Run" was the sign we had to display at our table if we wanted the server to return. We were at Bubba Gump Shrimp.

LOL! I think he'd better not give up his day job! (nm) » All Done

> Obviously, she just wanted to spend more time with me.

You're quite perceptive, falls :).

But don't let her kid you guys. I actually had falls trapped in my car against her will. She's the only person I know who has the patience to answer my son's questions over and over and over again. His favorite word is why and she had some fantastic answers for him. And everytime she answered him, he would reward her with yet another question. Even today he asked me about 20 times where falls went and why she went on the plane.

Seriously, falls, sorry for my brain far..oops, I mean, momentary lapse in memory. It really was very nice to have the extra time with you, though :).
