Hello, Ive been renting a house for a year and now the owner wants to put in up on the market. He is asking us if we want to buy it (no) and so, he says we have 30 days to move out....
Needless to say, I have started looking, but its hard to find something that fast..Plus the area i live in the cost of living in expensive. So, we are going to have to pay around $1200 for a 3 bedroom house. Anyway, I am stressed now and I was doing better with my meds but I feel like i am going to freak now....

wow, 30 days isn't a very long time to have to find a place and move out. That royally sucks! (((woolav)))
I'm hoping you find a super place. Good luck!

(((woolav))) That does sound stressful. I've never rented a place before but I know all about deadlines (from school). I recomend trying to do as much of the work at the beginning as possible so it won't be as stressful as the deadline looms. Maybe the move won't be as stressful then.

If the market if really tight where you want to live consider a short term lease on an apartment and put some of your things in storage. That way you don't feel like you have to make an immediate decision on something you don't like.
Also pack up most of the things you don't need like out of season clothes, extra dishes and pots and pans. The things you pack last should be the things you need every day to live. Mark those high priority and be sure they make it to your new place first.

> SAre you sure this is legal for your landlord to do? Here in Canada, just because an owner wants to sell is not legal to kick the tenants out...they have to sell the house as it is (a rented property.)

As I understand it they have to give you 30 days if you are going month to month, and I believe to the end of your lease if you have a lease.
I've moved 3 times this year! My sympathy is with you.

We have started looking at other houses to rent, and found some that we like better or have more room than where we are now, so maybe this is a good thing. I am going to keep a positive attitude (with the help of my meds) and try not to stress.
Thanks All.........
