Mine's a delicacy from childhood, fried oysters on toast, a side of beer and (from adulthood, so-called at least), a toke.

Dinah's dinner has my vote. Yum. Add fresh french bread and butter to that order of chili, I'll bet hot chocolate even tastes good WITH! Mm, chocolate and chili ...

Tabitha,
Mmmmmmmm boy! Nothing better than standing under the tree, picking the nice ripe ones, peeling most of the skin, squeezeing to expose the delicious innards, and taking a big bite. Mmm, mmm, mmm! Not just any old fig, a nice, a fully tree ripenned 'Black Mission Fig'!!! They are so tasty, they are almost 'illegal' and/or 'unholy'!
Rod
PS: I'm so impatient, I no longer peel... I just sqeeze and eat.... then throw away the empty skin! I'm starting to drool on myself!

There's also nothing like... browing through the dried fruit selection at the grocery store, thinking, should I get apricots or raisins? How about figs? Coming home, cutting off the ziptop bag, reaching in and pulling out an odd wrinkly black thing, chomping into it, and thinking Hmmm... just like fig newtons without the newton. If not unholy, at least a satisfying snack experience.

This is my favourite thread yet so far ever here at Babble.
I love food. I should be a very fat person, but am not as yet, though I may be leaning that way.
Favourite dinner...
Kir royale (champagne with a few drops of Creme de Cassis - a liquer made from currants.)
Lobster bisque
Quenelles de Sole (fish dumplings) in a light tomato cream sauce
Butter lettuce salad vinaigrette
Rack of lamb with a red vermouth demi glace
Baked eggplantA good, stinky cheese and a nice Port wine
Blueberry tart
Accompanied with wines chosen by someone who knows about wine.
