What's up with one decent night of sleep and now the next night/morning it's 4 a.m. and I'm not out yet. What gives?!
Grumpily,
zenh.

I don't mean to sound like a pill-pusher but when the conservative route doesn't work (warm bath, herbal tea, melatonin, etc. etc.), Seroquel is MARVELOUS for sleep - a lot of times, just 25 mg.
will do it and you don't have that "Nyquil hangover" when you wake up in the morning.I've been criticized in the past for suggesting Seroquel for sleep, I suppose on the grounds that it is a strong anti-psychotic. (I take 400 mg nightly for bipolar symptoms/anxiety/insomnia -
normally it's not used for bipolar treatment, but I felt awful on Depakote and I've stabalized nicely with Seroquel.) Nevertheless I still recommend it - insomnia is hell, and a moderate dose of Seroquel is better than overdosing yourself on ever-increasing amounts of OTC sleep aids that become less and less effective over time.
