Which is better, Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry's?

I don't think the brands are comparable because B&J's ice creams are severe--full of stuff. Some people prefer the plain flavors of HD. Vanilla Swiss Almond and Mint Chocolate Chip Haagen Dazs and Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia are my choices.
My favorite of all is Edy's Mint Chocolate Chip. But those off-brand ice creams like Turkey Hill and Greens (hell, even Hershey's) are excellent!
These days, though, I'm sticking to my Weight Watchers ice cream sandwiches.

Very true—especially the chocolate chunks. I prefer ice cream with an undisrupted rich creaminess, as long as it's not too sweet. Overall I prefer HD.

Some ice cream sandwiches are great (haven't had Weight Watchers). I like some of those commonly sold at convenience stores—can't remember the brands but I know them when I see them. Supposedly they have more unnatural chemicals but ocassionally I indulge.
Ice cream can sometimes have a brief anti-depressant effect on me. :-)

it also depends on how you eat them, ie on their own from the tub, or with something else as a dessert, like with apple pie or something.
Ben and Jerry's Vanilla like it oughta be is my prefered accompaniment with apple pie, whereas hagen daaz strawberry cheesecake is perfect out of the tub whilst watching a movie. When theres a crisis or I'm feeling down then it's a toss up between HD belgian chocolate and B&J phish food.

I only like vanilla with hot fudge over it. Strawberry cheesecake haagen dazs sounds great. I haven't had that one yet.
Sometimes my entire dinner consists of a pint of ice cream.
