On-line drug stores

Posted by kazoo on April 12, 2002, at 2:05:22

"Citizens of Earth, I bring you ____________!" (fill in the blank)

Question: can anyone recommend a good, safe, honest on-line drug store that they personally have done business with and can recommend?

I know there are thousands out there and it's just not practical to examine each one. I would like input from anyone who has done business with any of these places.

Also, tell me the ones I should avoid.

Up north here, most community pharmacies will deliver if you ask. Another option is to email me your address and I'll deliver whatever you need. Or NO!! Perhaps I should be playing hard to get. Little trinkets which are out of our reach we sometimes desire more than the ones which are easily picked up. So if I was to make demands, like half an hour on chat, would you then need me to deliver???

Here I go with more questions. Now why would you require an online pharmacy? How would such a thing work anyway? Would you need to fax a copy of the prescription to them? For some reason the notion of an online pharmacy seems illicit to me. Are you feeling ill? And if so, could I offer bedside care? My intentions are honourable, and if you don't trust me I could always bring a chaperone.

You do know that as long as I'm around you have no reason to state that you are desperate. Or should I recoil back to my corner to pout.

Illicit isn't always bad! So who am I to deny you if your heart desires such a mode?

Krazy Kat's Korner Store!!! Just like CVS, only you don't have to deal with those little comments from the pharmacist's assistants and the feeling that they wonder just What it is that you have to take all these pills for.

My favorite scene in Magnolia - the pharmacy, with Julianne Moore when they condescendingly comment on her "illness".

How about meds by carrier pigeon?

Actually, I wish I had tried a legit one so i could offer some help. i think most major lines, like CVS, will process over the internet...

Kazoo,

Funny, I was just checking out "costco.com". The drawback for me is the $45 membership fee. Which would allow me to purchase Sam-e at a very reasonable price (44 cents/200 mg pill). But as a bipolar girl, it may kick me up too far, and I just want to experiment with it. Evidently (this from the New York City Mood Orders Support Group website) the other place it's cheap is Sam's Club stores, I'm sure it's available online. But the membership fee is a pain in the ass. You can get non-scrip vitamins and myriad other stuff from these club stores (furniture, anyone?), but not sure about scrips.

For your regular prescriptions, I would just go to Drugstore.com (RiteAid affiliate). They send me reminders via e-mail when I need a refill, which is GREAT, and as long as they have it on file through RiteAid, they fill the scrip. Then I go pick it up, although they do deliver as well. Might as well go for a large chain, Kazoo, they seem to have the bumps smoothed out. You can also mail scrips on paper to them if you can't get out, or have the Dr's office call an affiliated local drug store. For stuff like benzo's though, you need the scrip in triplicate, the doctor's office could mail it, I think.

So do check out the drugstore.com web site. They also sell anything a drugstore might have, health and beauty products (you will want to make sure you're beautiful for when Willow shows up...)

Others have mentioned Walgreen's drug store as a good one. I don't know which ones to avoid, but hope this helps anyway. Do a search on this board for "drugstores" and see what you get, I know we've gone over this, but maybe while you were in the crisis period with your mother. I hope the wounds are starting to heal, sweetie...

Many kind regards,

Wendy

Are you not feeling well? Is there anything that we could do to help?

Should I step down? Leave you to dance with all the pretty girls. Perhaps I've been smothering you, and you're finding the air too stale?

Do you have family or friends who are able to help you out? If not I'm just a few hours away. All you need to do is give directions. I've been given permission to fly. It's your choice!

Waiting Willow

your faithful handmaid

ps if you tell me take a hike, i'll drown my sorrows locally you are too wise for your own good

Bad joke from anonymous:

Q. How do you make a hormone?
A. Don't pay her.

A better quip by Dorothy Parker, on defining...

"Horticulture: you can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think."
