Freaking out over discrimination lawsuit. My school did some horrible things to me, which i mentioned before. I have a meeting with their lawyers on tuesday, i am scared, they hired the best and most expensive law firm in Boston. I dont have an attorney. Its kind of a lawsuit its a public hearing thing too. I am 21 and i know they are going to talk circles around me. Has anyone ever been discriminted against because of your depression? Have you taken legal action?

Every lawyer is required by law to do one "pro bono" case a month. Find one that will take your case. If you can't, then contact your state's representatives in government and ask them what to do. Tell them you're in a bind and that you need help.

Yes, I have. It's still a painful story that I haven't yet felt able to tell here. Cam knows; his selfless offer of help last June was invaluable in lifting my spirits and enabling me to fight successfully for a further three months' salary before I finally lost my job, and my hope of a future career as a university lecturer. I hope, Cam, that your recent good news will be the long-deserved reward for many similar acts of kindness to those of us who, because of our illness, will never be in a position to repay you.
Here are some words from the Master which I found comforting:

LiLi, 20-25% of those who are disciminating against you now will, one day, themselves require professional help for a mental health problem. Sigmund Freud may (or may not) be outdated cr*p; his kid sister Schadenfreude never will be.

Theere are also organizations of lawyers that provide free legal services - I know Boston used to have a legal referral hotline - I haven't lived in the area for a while, but try looking in the phone book.
