I'm not diagnosed with BPD, but my p-doc says I have a lot of symptoms of BBP -- terrible fear of abandonment especially. My daugter, who is now 23 and to whom I feel I mothered well, says that she worried a lot about me when she was an older child and adolescent -- that I was not stable and could become very unhappy easily. I now see my p-doc monthly instead of weekly for therapy, and see a social worker who specializes in DBT weekly. She has helped me a lot, teaching me to stay with feelings rather than run from them.

Really. Regular DBT from Linhan (sp? and truly God bless her) can be dry for me and tedious. However, once I was in a dbt group with just an amazing newly graduated phyD. She identified certain emotions (like sadness--go figure) that cause me to vanish. She was great.

I see my pdoc weekly. You bring up an excellent suggestion. I feel my pdoc. (I love him) has run out of ideas.

Thanks for posting.
