I guess everyone's is different, but yeah I got it. Until I find a why to do something about it, I have to keep myself in control situations. I can't be too drunk. I can't let someone be attacking to me. I should go to bed at night. I can't think too much, or remember. I should have fun.

Cause I haven't figured out what to do with all the bad ideas yet, and I can't tell they are bad ideas until after. But I'm not evil, and I doubt you are. Any of you. The line between a good idea and a bad idea gets lost.

So I try to keep the inside contained. I can only stop it before, once I'm different, it can be too hard to come back. I breathe. I let my friends touch me and say "Hey". I'm going to go get some help. I've talked about that. Maybe after I would have better ideas.

Be nice to yourself.

I don't think you have something evil inside you. Maybe you have things that are brewing inside and need to be let out and they are coming out in the frm of bad feelings inside....but not evil. As hard as it is, I think talking about what it is 'inside' that is bothering you... is the best way.

My first reaction was "yes. I can't make it go away but I hide it well."

My second reaction was, "how sad that we share this belief about ourselves."

I think when bad things happen and trust is broken we often wonder if there isn't something inherently evil about our core selves. I always point to the common denominator in the equation -- and that woud be me. So how can I not believe, at least a tiny bit, that I'm not bad or evil or attracting bad and evil things? Do your thoughts wonder down this path too?

I don't know how to get rid of it. I think we have to try to believe that everything doesn't boil down to being our fault and to forgive ourselves as much as we can about whatever we deem our part in hurtful situations.

What helps me most is to look at little girls who are 4 or 8 or 12 and ask myself if I think they are evil. Can I see evil working through them? Since the answer is no, I can then tell myself that I was little. Very little. So the evil that was put in must be little too. And I can control little.

Take care.

Hi Muffled,

A psychic told me that my spirt has been taken in bondage by a negative force. I keep telling my T that maybe the psychic was right. My T says that the only evil thing inside me are my negative thoughts about myself.

So I guess to answer your question. I have something evil in me- in my head. How to get rid of the negative thoughts? Lately I'd say therapy is not the answer, so sorry, I am stuck in negativity mode these days.

Yes. I called it "It". I wrote two poems about It. I'll send them to you in Babblemail.

Therapy (and this was with my old CBT therapist) helped me to be able to get a handle on It so that I could "talk" about it - well at least I could write poetry about it (and I am NOT a poet). When I could talk about it, it lost a lot of its power. I didn't feel evil like I used to.

I still will feel empty or not good enough, but not as "evil" as I used to. I still think that I do "bad" things, but not as often as I used to.

I think that the process is to bring into your consciousness what the evil is. What is it like? Can you develop metaphors about it? Can you draw it? or sculpt it? Try some ways of expressing yourself that you would normally say "I don't know how to do that". What you need to "say" probably won't come out in nice neat sentances.

I agree with the others - you have no evil in you. But I know what it feels like to feel evil.

my first response is 'yes' and my answer is 'drugs'(neuroliptics not illegal).

but i don't think that's the truth. i think we have the capability of acting evil but not 'being' evil. i often think i bring out the worst in people, but that's ok, cuz i take that 'bad' and i can control it.

my second response was the thoughts of afterlife and beauty take me to a better place. like when i look at a setting sun and the neverending sky with amazing colors for as far as i can see. i figure if i can really 'see' that and appreciated it the way i do, the way it makes me feel then i can't be inheritly evil.

my third and last thought on this is that you can have bad inside you but you can make the 'bad' into a strenth. transform the negative energy into something else.
i know you can do this. you've been doing it, maybe you just don't know how or when or how you're doing it...but you are.
