I haven't been on here much recently, I suppose because I haven't been recieving any real therapy. I've been in group therapy for 9 months, and it was our final session yesterday (it runs for the academic year).
There were 8 of us to start with, it went down to 5 by the end, the other 4 seemed to find the group really helpful, but I didn't. They were lovely people, but I just didn't want them to know anything much about me. I also found that the (rare) insights offered by the therapist were of far more help to me than those offered by the others in the group, leading me to believe that individual therapy is more for me than group.
I don't think that going to group has done me any harm, despite it making me feel particularly aweful while I was there. It was a good step down from individual therapy, and made stopping seeing my T slightly more bearable.

I'm glad you could take something good out of the experience.
I know you weren't very comfortable in group, so I'm happy for you that it's over.
Thanks for giving us the update- I was wondering, I admit...

I'm going see how things go without therapy over the summer, then if I need something I will look into CBT. Even though I don't really like the ideas behind it I am more than willing to give it a good go if needs be.

> YOu are very brave. My college therapist has wanted me to go to group forever, but luckily I have always had a class. I don't think I could do it. Too revealing, I am glad that you survived and got something out of the experience. Plus I admire you for being so brave...
