Ready for Attack...T Offered to Call !!!

Posted by Speaker on December 29, 2003, at 17:55:51

I was so ready to confront my new T with the fact that I wasn't comfortable working on trauma without being able to call between session. I got up my nerve after reading all of your comments and realized I would rather find a T willing for contact. I went in and after the first how are you's he said I want to talk to you about my phone policy. He told me he does have a pager and with the stuff we are working on I may at some time need to contact him between sessions. I asked him what happened to his policy and he stated that is a general clinic policy but he treats people as individuals and this may be something that would help. CRAP now I can't quit due to that! :) I guess there is hope after all!

Well, that's good news, right? I mean, you can decide whether you want to work with him on the basis of something other than his phone policy. Although it sounds like maybe you were hoping to dump him? Maybe I'm reading too much into it?

Frankly, I think it's a little confusing that first he offered the clinic policy, and then now he says you that you can call his pager. Why talk about the clinic policy at all, if he's going to consider people individually? Makes me wonder what else you might be able to get out of this guy if you just show up with the right attitude!?

But, really, I'm just glad for you that you don't have to worry about the whole between session contact issue right now.
