Bad luck

Posted by zenn4 on December 2, 2003, at 13:39:18

My p-doc is giving me grief. She doesn't think she can be my p-doc anymore, neither do I. I think I am cursed. She can't help me anymore b/c she is "too involved" and has lost her objectivity. Great huh? So now, I have to find another doc and another therapist. Needless, to say I'm getting frustrated, very frustrated.

Zenn, I am sorry that happened to you! Did your pdoc give you referrals of other people to try and did she work out a schedule for you to gradually terminate with her?

She's trying get referrals, but she can't seem to find someone "good". Erstwhile, I'm in no therapy, no medication management. Sometimes I think all therapists are just charlatans, blah. This is turning into a crisis - of belief. It's unbelievable that lightning cannot only strike in the same place, but within 4 months of the other.

That sounds pretty awful. How long have you been seeing her? What led up to this? Why do you also agree she can't be your doctor anymore?

Isn't your therapist supposed to become "involved" with you? I don't understand her rationale for termination.

It is "too involved". I've been going for maybe 3 years, but since i got out of this "program", it's been too intense. It's been to the point of talking to her every day - one or the other calling. It's crazy - I know it's gone out of control and there's seems no way to bring it back.
All looks lost.

I have just been wondering if you have been looking or have found a new therapist? I have been terminated also and the process is difficult.
Take care!
